We need this info for the development of Scattered Evil. The more people vote, the more clear we can see in this matter, thanks.

You'll need to register to these forums to be able to vote (registration takes maybe half a minute).

I tend to use MD2s only for the Korax mods. I don't use them any other time, mainly for the reason in selection three. It's also one of the reasons why I didn't use them in mine (Z_Malloc errors being the other reason).

I don't use them but they don't bother me much.

Why did you put this in the KMod bit shouldn't it be in the SE bit.

Moose: I need the answer for SE, but the Q itself is about KMOD.

Patricia dear: I wanted to set it so that anyone can vote, but the admin panel didn't accept it, most probably I'd have to enable guest posting and that I'm not sure whether it'd be a good idea

Best believe I use em! :D MD2s give a better sense of immersion when used tastefully(IMO). The only thing I do NOT like MD2s for are enemy and player sprites. Thats straying too far from the feel of Doom, Hexen, etc. that I love. However, models for things like Statues, candles, misc. background items, etc. are great. Oh, also enemy and player fire (bullets, fireballs and the like) are nice...
Peace,

Ok, there is a little litch I found in KMOD that renders Serpents (those green/brown fireball/poison shooting Violator creatures) useless against me.

Just hold down the CROUCH button and their fireballs will ALWAYS fly over you, thus making them easy targets. mwaaahahahhahaa.
I guess the Serpents weren't programmed to aim DOWN that much now that we can CROUCH...  :D :D

Same goes for Slaughtaurs and maybe other monsters as well. Consider it as a hidden trick (along with the fact that you can beat up a fir tree for EXP as long as you want, provided you don't use a weapon that creates fire). 8)

Well, I knew about the tree but I always end up destroying it with any weapon within a few hits so it helps a little :) :D

But how? you can't destroy fir trees AFAIK.

Back on topic: I think 3D torchs, tables, chairs, pillers, ect.... look better than when they were sprites (no more spinning).

You'll need to be a mage to do this. The fastest way to get some experience is to go to those line of trees near the bell tower and with either the blue or gray wand, shoot along the line, making sure to hit every tree.

I knew that. :D :D :D But in the beginning, I just used 2 flechettes to destroy all 8 or is it (10) trees? Anyways, I just planted 1 flechette in bewteen every 4 trees and boom, they all burn, then do the same for the last set of trees. Also, you can do this with the fighter aswell. :) :D

If you'd rather pick the gauntlets with your fighter and beat up those fir trees, they'd live a lot longer and you'd get a lot of EXP over time. While it's no real fun in single player, it's certainly an edge in deathmatch (though an unfair one).

Well, it's not like those EXP from those trees boost your levels up alot..Besides, in MP, hardly anyone lives long enough to get high enough levels..*Mentioning my Mages pathetic 10 health* BAH!!!. Vavoom or JHexen MP for me instead. Alot more balanced.

I say use models, just not for player, monster and npc's. Keeps the feel of the doom engine alive. The rest, like trees and such look fine if they were models and such.
