Not exactly sure what you need. It would be best if it was in some kind of list with a sublist for each item. And tell me whatever syntax I need to use for the names.

Voice 1:
------------
"Phrase"
"Phrase2"
"Phrase 1645"

Weapon 1:
--------------
-Hit this material
-Hit that material
-Swing soft
-Swing loud

I guess I would probably do at least 2 or 3 takes of each sound so you could pick the best one or use them all for randomness. Just remember when you list an item, try to think of as many subsounds as you possibly can to make sure and cover every possibility. You can always delete the excess and I can store them here in a library.

I'll surely post something here as soon as complete inventing announcements list.

But what I wish to say at this moment: colleagues, when I heard about 30+ people who may record their voices for us, can you guess I thought first about? :)

Football Stadium!!! :D

Wow great idea! What about the people in the stadium (BTW Mago, Firebrand, those seats should be filled with a heaving mass of people/monsters/whatever watching the game*) reacting to how the game goes? Like half of them always cheering and the other half booing for every goal, catcalling players if they do something stupid etc.? And a general murmur all the time, with sometimes the sounds of a fist fight, a vendor selling Korax Kola, etc. :D

* regarding the spectators, they could be animated textures on the linedefs, using sprites for them would slow things down I guess

Well, tmc2i, maybe I'll try to give you a small task (for now). (I'll use some indexation to make it look like todo list)

I am not sure about naming syntax. Names I gave there are an example, if I am wrong, people here will tell that.
An_ - is for "Announcement"
gm_ is "game mode" (there will be generic as well afterwards)
KTH_ - game mode's abbreviation

===== 1. Announcements =====

1.1. Generic announcer's voice
(with firm but emotional articulation)

1.1.1. Kill The Heresiarch

a. "Awaiting for Heresiarch..." An_gm_KTH_Awaiting
b. "Heresiarch is here!" An_gm_KTH_IsHere
c. "Heresiarch is down" An_gm_KTH_IsDown
c2. "Heresiarch is defeated" An_gm_KTH_IsDefeated (variant of 'c')
d. "Heresiarch has reborn" An_gm_KTH_Reborn (grammar? "IS reborn" maybe?)

"Heresiarch is reborn" is the correct one. "Has reborn" implies that the Heresiarch gave birth to something twice.

Okay, okay. I said I "know" 30 people who could do it, have only asked 4 and they said yes including me. But, good news, I can probably get about 12 voices from each person = $5000 in recording software to change the speed, pitch, formant, small accent changes of someone's voice. Crowd noise will be tricky but shouldn't be a problem. I can always sample a crowd and mix it into the background with a stereo expander and a couple different reverbs and drop the lows so it's a smother mix.

Questions::
How do I pronounce Heresiarch?
Does there need to be any accent at all or do I need to keep the articulate morrowind/oblivion midwestern upperclass american voice?

Well for KA today's common language without any changes should be just fine (call it English, American, American English or whatever). As far as I care, it could be the same for the RPG, but if there is a group decision for some kind of modulated or archaic English, I'm OK with that too.

Uh-oh. The fact is that I myself do not know. I thought it might be more clear for native english-speakers.
Anyway, if we suggest that Heresiarch = Heresy + Arch ("greater one") and take transcriptions (I am looking into the dictionary) here what we'll get:

[heresi] + [a:tch]

where e - is a sign looking like "e" mirrored both vertically&horizontally like in second syllable in "miracle".
and ch - is a special sigh looking like S stretched vertically, that sounds as clear "ch" like in "watch".

You're thinking too hard, CW. A quick look to www.dictionary.com suggests two pronunciations:

1) Her-REE-zee-ark
2) HAIR-ri-see-ark (or Heresy + Arc)

Interestingly, this word originates from Latin, which doesn't have a CH sound that English does. :)

LOL how about my dictionary?

Quote:
heresiarch |həˈrēzēˌ?rk; ˈherəsē-|
noun
the founder of a heresy or the leader of a heretical sect.

ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: via ecclesiastical Latin from ecclesiastical Greek hairesiarkhēs ?leader of a sect,? from hairesis ?heretical sect, heresy? + arkhēs ?ruler.?

Finished uploading the announcer shit. some of them are short and some
long, 3 to 4 for each, pick n' choose whatever. Hopefully you will like them, if not, it only took 10 minutes, I can do it again if need be.

Hey it's really good. :D I like the court announcer type most (the style that's #1 in the first couple, then sometimes #3 and other numbers). It should be put into the game to see whether it fits in there, but in itself it sounds cool.

OK here are the announcements for football/soccer:

Let the match begin!
Goal!
Teams are tied!
Red team is winning! (has the lead)
Blue team is winning! (has the lead)
Red team has won the match!
Blue team has won the match!

Not sure whether there should be more, like time-related ones or penalty shots?

Yes, they are trully good!
Well, actually I liked the not-so-pompous voice type as in "gm_an_defeat2.wav", "gm_an_isdown2.wav" and "gm_an_reborn2.wav" most of all, but that's my personal feeling. And "gm_an_here1.wav" is great :)

Can you also make "Heresiarch has been defeated!", please?
I am trying to guess what sounds better - H. IS or HAS BEEN defeated.
(I hope I am not making a grammar mistake again, uh?)
And why did you make "Awaiting Heresiarch" instead "Awaiting FOR Heresiarch"? Maybe my variant was wrong? Please, tell.

BTW, please, do not forget to put "KTH" mark in the file name to know that it is for Kill The Heresiarch mode. (And maybe it is better to add this mark on uploaded files)
