So this is Cronos.

I've wondered if The Winnowing Hall was in Cronos, a monastery to the Serpent Riders of sorts, and the Chaos Portals is in another dimension.

No, this is Charybdea, one of the provinces of the Thovnosian Empire, which in turn is still just a part of the whole world called "Cronos". ;)

Thovnosian Empire? :? Isn't this supposed to be just a few months after the fall of Korax? I thought the Legion, the Clergy, and the Arcanum were the only things on Cronos you could call Empires (Arcanum might be the wrong word but I don't feel arsed to look it up). Is Thovnos the name of one of the three leaders that replaced the deathkings?

Those three are Orders, as in social constructs for people of a certain vocation, not political constructs like countries/empires. These Orders exist throughout Cronos, and the guys you mean were the leaders of the Orders in another country/empire far to the East. The Thovnosian Empire has these same social structures (the three Orders), but the leaders are different and most of this empire has only been lightly touched by Korax' armies before his defeat. This is one of the reasons Daedalon settled down here after the last battle, as he wanted to get away from all the desolace and destruction on the other side of the continent.

How can Daedolon do that when he got sucked into eternal damnation to the outer worlds of chaos by touching the chaos sphere?

I guess Corvus eventually came back to Parthoris in Heretic II... I'd rather he remained stuck in the stagnant demesne. But it's implied it took Corvus several years to finally find a portal back home... The Hexen Trio got back in a couple months?
