Cool! 8)

But it indeed would work as a boss monster for some part(s) of the game IMO :).

My ideas:
Variations for Heretic Death knights:
-Sword and shield variant, similar to what eriance made but without cloak, with more pieces of armor, different helmet and mainly different shield (maybe the one Hell Warrior uses)
Image
-Bow Variant similar to Hexen II Death knight. This one will replace old Heretic Death knight in matter of behaviour. I never liked how Death Knight were able to throw axe across whole level, I know they were magical axes but...
-Axe variant - only diferent behaviour, it will be more close combat oriented, little faster and able to throw axe not so far away (axes will be influenced by gravity).

Variations for Hexen Ettins (I read about them somewhere around, dont remember where)
-Two Axe Ettin without shoulder pads but with helmet - faster, deadly when close (fast attack), same HP or less than normal ettin.
-Armored Ettin with two maces/other weapon. I found sprite sheet on file server but I really dont like its armor. I will make a new one with chainmail and maybe with helmet (but it would be better for leader)
-Ettin Leader. Idea from your forums. Armored, with hammer and helmets (different on each head)
-Ettin Serpent Rider. Classical ettin riding on Chaos Serpent. The monster will be almost the same as classical Chaos Serpent but it will have more HP, when hurt enough it will become faster (Just like DSparills serpent) and it will drop Ettin when killed. Maybe the rider could use some other type of attack, like tossing Flechettes for example.

I can also try to make some variations to KDiZD Satyr. Something similar to Diablo 1 Goat Clans (with bow or with maul).
Image

KDiZD Shadow would fit into HeXen univers too.
Image
I can also try to make some new Shadow creatures, someone on ZDooM org proposed a Shadow Giant idea.
Image

Another almost complete monster is this barbarian.
Image
Its from Cyclones game from Raven games. And it only needs rotations for attack (which will be like new 20 sprites = hell). Some weapon variations also possible.

Last think I could do at the moment is to revamp Gargoyle from Ichors Carnage Galore (Hexen II gargoyle) to make less obvious that its a model rip. His wings are terrible.

Also some Eriance monsters can be used. Many of them feel more HeXenish than DooMish:

Double Maul Minotaur is cool too, but curent version is converted into DooM palette, which will lead to color lose compared to the original when converted back into Heretic/Hexen palette. I can send a mail to Eriance if he doesnt have version in original colors.

Nice ideas there :), Crimson Wizard is already doing some new enemies for the RPG, so I guess he can check these out and see which can be implemented in the current development version :).

Serpents should be ridden by wizards only, not by dumb monsters.

If you wish to know, currently I have coded following monsters that could need sprites:

1. Ettin Slinger. Basicly is a ettin that can shoot arrows (arrows were in original Hexen already). I am still in doubts should it still have mace with him for melee attacks or not. If yes, than perhaps he could have a small mechanical bow tied to his left arm; otherwise he should carry average sized crossbow.
2. Ettin Commander. The one with throwing magical fiery hammer. Should have armour!
Also, if you will make this one, an even more powerful version could be made called Ettin Thundercommander (sounds a bit like gruppenfurer, heh ;) ) - that one should wield a lightning hammer.
3. Magma Stalker. Should be reddish Stalker, maybe with some other changes to its look.
4. Lava Dweller. This one is completely new to Hexen world. Due my concept, it should be a big head like an Easter Island statue, obsidian with fiery scars all around, which spits fireballs.

Also - these have sprites but maybe some enhancements could be made to their look
5. Dark Cardinal. Red Dark Bishop.
6. Dark Advisor. Black Dark Bishop (see movie and screenshot posted above in this thread)

I also like your idea about fletchette-throwers. Maybe make foot ones instead of serpent riders? They could throw grenades along high arc.

If ettins are going to be riding something, it should be more of a salamander/alligator type of creature.

Heh, yeah, those gargoyle wings weren't all that great, but they were the best I could come up with at the time. Maybe sometime in the future I might make some improvements, but that won't be for quite a while.

For some odd reason, that barbarian looks to me like it's a little bit stretched out horizontally.

You can use XWE (http://www.doomworld.com/xwe/) which have an ability to save converted bitmaps from WAD as hi-color.

I can do any of the recoloring needed.

Also there are games that have nice monsters we can use.....those include DaggerFall, In Purcuit of Greed and others. All can be easily recolored by me.
Just send me the sprites and which color you want them.

Found in my archives, 3 pics of combined monsters, not that we can use them as-is, but might be someone like these and make something of similar concept.

I'll upload the sprites I've got for it once I'm done with other things for KA ;).

A video in archive (~6 MB); I put it temporarily there, it's demonstrating first version of Ettin Grenadiers in action :)

That's cool! I remember I had some ideas for something similar a long time ago, before even DECORATE was around.
