Can you guys turn html coding on plz?

Maybe he wants to put up screenshots of the suuuuuper secret Hexen map to prove to us that it really exists.

Dark Mage is doing a "graphic whatever thingie" with screenies from Hexen, and I ask him to show us his work when finished...that is why he wants HTML code enable...(I think...) [img]images/smiles/icon_wink.gif[/img]

Well, in that case, he could always make a link (or links) to the screenshots, which will take up a whole lot less space in the forum.

What I would like to see however, is the ability to use icons by our names.

ok, I WANT HTML turned ON becuz I want to write in a different font colour from you other guys. And I wish we could have avatars like they do over at Vavoom forums. You know what I mean Ramborc, Ramborc has his face (An Ugly Troll) Right under his name. [img]images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] And I have Ryu from Street Fighter. But I wan to do this with this forum as I can make my own Signature pictures and Avatars... hahahahaha..

Mage, I got Gamespy3D, but only an old version(from PoP CD)...I dont think it will work...but I?m not going to purchase it and could?nt find for download anywhere...
If you know where I can find the trial version updated, please lemme know K?

I understand teh sig pics may take up alot of time to dl for 56kers so how about jsut those little avitar pics under our names.? I thikn that would be enough. Something like 70x50 pixels or so would be enough I think. And can I use htlm coding on these forums or no..?

That should be possible with UBB code as well (see the "faq" link towards the top of this page).

I didn't want to enable pix on these forums at the beginning becuz I had only dialup access at that time and typical UBB pages with ~20 posts and lots of image took 3-4 minutes to load completely. Now I'm on DSL but I still didn't enable it becuz UBB is dog slow even w/o that stuff. I'm going to (try to) convert these boards into PHPBB and that should be fast enough so that adding extra features shouldn't be a prob.

Not to mention many features like you want are part of only the free open-source bulletin boards like YaBB or PHPBB, but not yet included with the $200 UBB. You get what you pay for, obviously... the only reason I didn't shoot Camper for him telling me last July to set up UBB as message board system is the little fact that he paid >95% of the license.

I guess a couple of things weren't fully clear from my previous posting... Avatar support was introduced to UBB a week or 2 ago in the latest version which is most probably full of bugs and I won't update this UBB any more anyway becuz that'll just make a success of a conversion into another forum software the less likely. As for HTML code, it can be too easily exploited to introduce all kind of crap into forums, including popups, tracking, viruses/worms (though only for IE users), etc.

Please be patient for a couple of weeks yet, until the new forum software will be up (provided I succeed at all).
