FAQ
Q: Who is this
Korax guy?
A: He's the middle of the 3 Serpent
Riders, the arch evil of Kronos (i.e. the end boss in Hexen).
If you've never seen him, check him out here. Yep, he looks kinda ugly,
a crossing between dragon and cockroach but don't worry, he
died in Hexen so he won't return (that's why you'll encounter
his heritage only).
Q: What's Hexen?
A: It is a 3D first person shooter,
based upon the Doom engine, set in a fantasy world. If you never
heard of it, you might want to see the Hexen Center over there at RavenGames.
Q: Can I really
contribute to Korax' Heritage?
A: Yes, we're searching for nearly all
kind of help so if you've anything just post in our
forums.
Q: What about
hardware requirements?
A: For Korax
Mod, it's the same as for jHexen,
which is somewhat like this:
- Pentium 166 (or equivalent) with 64Mb of RAM (providing
that 3D models and special effects are disabled)
- Windows 98 (or newer)
- DirectX 6 (or newer)
- A display adapter capable of 3D hardware acceleration
- WAD file from the original Hexen, patched to version
1.1.
For Korax Arena,
the requirements are those of the Vavoom
engine:
- Pentium processor or better
- 32 MB RAM
- Optional: Sound card
- Optional: CD-ROM
- For LAN games you'll need to have a network card installed
and configured properly
- DirectX 9 (or newer) download here.
- To play Korax Arena, you need the main wad file from
one of the following games:
- Registered Doom
- Ultimate Doom
- Doom 2
- Doom 2 TNT
- Doom 2 Plutonia
- Heretic
- Hexen, patched to version 1.1.
If you need the hexen retail patch for version
1.1, it can be located here.
For the remaining projects which are unreleased,
we can't determine the exact requirements yet. Once we make
a public release we'll update our documentation.
